Having a seat. Moving along.
Month 1, Day 7
I may or may not have stumbled on a direction for these 12 pieces. 12 is not a huge number so to settle on a theme across a dozen pieces would be sort of a tidy way to tie them all together.
Month 1, Day 6
It's inevitable, some days will just be weird. On days such as these you just have to ride it out and not get sidelined by said weirdness, whatever your respective weirdness might be. Oh and a bit of progress on this besides.
Month 1, Day 5
There is a direct correlation between the things we learn and forget and have to relearn again and what we practice daily. In the short hiatus from daily consistent studio work I felt a noticeable lapse once starting up again. If this is true for such a short period of time image if the gap is longer.
One of the things I wanted to do more on this project is meander in the work and allow for discovery in the process without premeditated ideas.
It's nice be along for the ride.
Month 1, Day 4
Next time I might wait before I build up a wash.
It could also be I have a lot in my mind at the moment. Not sure but either way things are beginning to click.
Month 1, Day 3
Slowly moving along. This amount of time feels like a luxury right now.
Month 1, Day 2
I made the decision to start on this piece by building up base wash and some texture and see what comes of it. It's interesting that even though I have done two other year long projects starting this one is like starting from scratch. From the very beginning the challenges are unique. I'm going to need a new approach for this for sure.
Month 1, Day 1
12 MONTHS is a continuation of the logical progression of time following The Drawing a Day and 52 Week projects from the last few years. Now with 12 MONTHS I will be completing one 36" x 48" wood panel every month for the equivalent of one year. Documented daily in the same manner as the previous time based projects it should be an interesting journey.
